Your Questions Answered

Please reach us at admin@clearpathstherapy.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Therapy is a professional, supportive process that helps people understand, work through, and move beyond the difficulties, patterns, and experiences that are holding them back. It can help with a wide range of challenges — from anxiety and trauma to low confidence, unwanted habits, and a desire for personal growth. At Clear Paths Therapy, we draw on a range of evidence-based and complementary approaches, tailored to each individual client.

If you're struggling with something that feels difficult to shift on your own, or if you simply feel that life could be more fulfilling, therapy could be a valuable next step. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit — many of our clients come to us for personal growth and development as much as for specific difficulties. If you're unsure, our free introduction call is a great way to explore whether therapy feels right for you, with no obligation to commit.

This varies depending on the individual, what they're working on, and how they respond to the therapeutic process. Some clients experience significant progress in a small number of sessions; others benefit from longer term work. At Clear Paths Therapy, the length of the work is always discussed openly and reviewed regularly — there is no pressure to commit to a fixed number of sessions upfront.

Not necessarily, and never more than you are comfortable with. Different therapeutic approaches work in different ways — some focus primarily on the present and future, while others may involve exploring past experiences where this would be helpful. Your therapist will always work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you, and you are always in control of what you share.

Yes. Everything discussed in your sessions is treated with complete confidentiality. There are a small number of legal and ethical exceptions to this — for example, if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others — but these are rare and would always be discussed with you wherever possible. Your therapist will explain the confidentiality policy in full at the start of your work together.

This is more common than you might think, and it doesn't mean therapy can't work for you. Sometimes it's a question of finding the right approach, the right therapist, or the right moment. At Clear Paths Therapy, we offer a genuinely integrative, personalised approach that draws on a wide range of therapeutic methods — which means there is often something available that may feel different from what you've tried before. Our free introduction call is a good opportunity to talk this through.

Clear Paths Therapy works with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, trauma, depression, and PTSD. However, we are a private therapy practice and not a crisis or emergency service. If you are currently experiencing a serious mental health crisis, please contact your GP, call NHS 111, or in an emergency call 999. We are happy to discuss your individual situation on a free introduction call to determine whether our services are the right fit for your needs.

Online Therapy - Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at admin@clearpathstherapy.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

All sessions at Clear Paths Therapy are delivered fully online via Zoom. Once you have booked your appointment, you will receive a secure Zoom link automatically. Sessions take place at your scheduled time — all you need is a device with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a private space where you feel comfortable.

Yes. Research consistently shows that online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for the vast majority of people and presenting difficulties. Many clients find that being in their own familiar environment actually enhances the therapeutic experience — feeling more relaxed and at ease than they might in an unfamiliar clinical setting.

You will need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a private, comfortable space where you won't be interrupted. It's worth having a glass of water nearby and giving yourself a few minutes to settle before the session begins.

Yes. Sessions are conducted via Zoom, which uses end-to-end encryption to protect the privacy of your session. Your booking and client information are managed securely through Halaxy, a professional healthcare practice management platform.

If you experience technical difficulties during a session, your therapist will attempt to reconnect with you via Zoom. If the connection cannot be restored, they will contact you to rearrange. It is helpful to have your therapist's contact details saved before your session begins, just in case.

Booking and Practicalities - Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at admin@clearpathstherapy.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

You can book directly through our Services page, where each therapy has its own booking button linking to our secure online booking system. If you're not sure which session to book, we recommend starting with the free introduction call.

The free introduction call is a relaxed, no-obligation 15-minute conversation with your therapist. It's an opportunity to talk about what you're looking for, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for whether Clear Paths Therapy is the right fit for you — before committing to anything.

The initial discovery session is a 30-minute appointment at £30. It's a deeper conversation that allows your therapist to understand your goals, your history, and what you'd like to work through — so that the most effective course of action can be planned together. It's the natural next step after the introduction call for those who are ready to begin.

Prices can be found in the Services page and may differ per service.

A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations may be charged at the full session rate. We understand that life can be unpredictable, and wherever possible we will try to accommodate rescheduling requests made in good faith.

Payment details are managed through our booking platform, Halaxy. You will receive confirmation of your booking and any relevant payment information when you book your appointment.

We are happy to discuss session packages for clients who would like to commit to a course of sessions. Please mention this on your introduction call or discovery session and your therapist will be happy to discuss the options available.

We offer a range of evidence-based and complementary therapeutic approaches, including EMDR Plus, Clinical Hypnotherapy, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Solution Focused Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Transformational Therapy.

You don't need to know before you get in touch. Our free introduction call is designed to help you understand which approach — or combination of approaches — is most likely to be helpful for your individual situation. Our therapists are trained across a wide range of modalities and will always recommend what they genuinely believe will be most effective for you.

Yes — and at Clear Paths Therapy, this is often where the most effective work happens. Our integrative approach means that your therapist may draw on more than one modality within a session, depending on what is most useful at any given point. This is always discussed and agreed with the client.

Each of our therapies has its own dedicated page with a full explanation of what it involves, what it can help with, what a session looks like, and answers to frequently asked questions. You can find these via our Services page.

Still have a question?
