Every person who comes to Clear Paths Therapy is different — and so is the support we offer. Using the power of the mind to create lasting change
Clinical Hypnotherapy uses a deeply relaxed, focused state of awareness to help the mind become more open to positive change. Unlike stage hypnosis, clinical hypnotherapy is a professional, evidence-informed practice — calm, collaborative, and entirely safe. Working at a subconscious level, it can help to shift deeply held patterns, beliefs, and responses that haven't budged through conscious effort alone. It is particularly effective for anxiety, stress, phobias, unwanted habits, sleep difficulties, and building confidence and self-worth.
A highly effective, evidence-based approach for trauma and distressing memories
EMDR is one of the most extensively researched therapeutic approaches available, and is recommended by the NHS and the World Health Organisation for the treatment of trauma and PTSD. It works by helping the brain reprocess distressing memories so that they lose their emotional intensity — allowing people to move forward without being held back by the past. At Clear Paths Therapy, we offer EMDR Plus, an enhanced approach that integrates additional techniques for even greater effectiveness. EMDR is particularly well suited to trauma, PTSD, anxiety, phobias, and the lasting impact of difficult life experiences.
Reducing emotional intensity through gentle, evidence-informed tapping
EFT, often referred to as tapping, combines gentle acupressure on specific points of the body with psychological techniques drawn from cognitive and exposure therapies. The result is a surprisingly powerful method for reducing the emotional charge attached to difficult feelings, memories, or situations. EFT is accessible, non-invasive, and can be used independently by clients between sessions. It is particularly helpful for anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, phobias, and emotional overwhelm.
Shifting the patterns of thought and behaviour that keep you stuck
NLP explores the relationship between the way we think, the language we use, and the behaviours and patterns that follow. By identifying and working with unhelpful mental programmes — many of which operate below conscious awareness — NLP can help to create rapid, meaningful shifts in how a person thinks, feels, and responds. It is particularly effective for confidence and self-esteem, anxiety, limiting beliefs, communication, and breaking unwanted patterns of behaviour.
Building on your strengths to move toward the life you want
Solution Focused Therapy is a future-oriented, strengths-based approach that shifts the focus away from problems and toward possibilities. Rather than spending extensive time analysing what has gone wrong, it asks: what is already working, and what would things look like if they were better? This approach is empowering, practical, and often produces meaningful progress in a relatively short period of time. It is well suited to a wide range of challenges including anxiety, low confidence, life transitions, feeling stuck, and a desire for personal growth.
Drawing on the science of wellbeing, resilience, and human flourishing
Positive Psychology is the scientific study of what helps people thrive — not just the absence of difficulty, but the active presence of meaning, resilience, connection, and fulfilment. Integrated into therapy, it offers practical, evidence-based tools for building emotional strength, shifting perspective, and cultivating a greater sense of wellbeing. It is particularly valuable for clients working through low mood, lack of purpose, burnout, or a desire to live more intentionally.
Supporting deep, lasting change across all areas of life
Transformational Therapy takes a holistic view of the person — recognising that real, lasting change often requires working across multiple dimensions of life, not just addressing a single symptom. Drawing on a range of therapeutic principles and techniques, it supports clients in reconnecting with who they are, what they want, and what has been holding them back. It is particularly suited to clients seeking meaningful personal growth, a sense of direction, or a deeper shift in how they experience themselves and their lives.
That's completely understandable — choosing the right approach can feel overwhelming. Our free introduction call is designed exactly for this. It's a relaxed, no-obligation conversation where we can listen to what you're going through and help point you in the right direction.
